Orientation matters as much as species — a north-facing wall in shade all day needs a completely different plant palette than a south-facing wall exposed to direct Dubai sun for six hours.
Irrigation And Drainage Are Non-Negotiable
A vertical garden fails almost exclusively because of irrigation, not plant choice — either uneven water distribution leaves the top of the wall dry while the base stays soggy, or poor drainage sends runoff onto a facade or floor it shouldn't touch. What Ongoing Maintenance Actually Involves
